NO TIME TO WRITE?- Have stamped postcard ready.  Just jotting a quick “thinking of you” note goes a long way to bridge the gap between letters or phone calls. (Angela DiCicco)

For the pre-reading group- Using large print, LABEL items in your home such as oven, door, chair, etc.  You’d be surprised how much they pick-up!

REWARD SYSTEM- Have a piece of paper with your child’s name on it somewhere prominent.  Whenever they do something kind, or thoughtful, something without being told, etc.  give them a sticker.  You’d be amazed how far this attention goes to enforcing good behavior.  Recognition is reward enough.
