Oldie but goodie.  Place a drop of oil in the pot when boiling potatoes or macaroni to keep from boiling over. Steam vegetables instead of boiling.  Save water from steaming and use that liquid for adding to soups, gravies or rice.  It is vitamin rich. Soda? Replace sodapop with a healthier substitute.  Kids love bubbly drinks so mix flavored seltzer water with juice or other non sugary beverage.
